Weapon Abilities

In addition to executing regular attacks, a character may purchase with CP, Weapon Abilities which add special traits to attacks and other aspects of combat.  In order to purchase a Weapon Ability, a character must first have the appropriate Weapon Skill first.  Second, in order to purchase a specific Weapon Ability such as Parry or Critical Strike, the player must purchase the Weapon Ability associated with a specific type of weapon.  Thus, in order to purchase Critical Strike and use that ability with a sword, the character must have the Sword skill and “Sword Abilities” purchased along with Critical Strike.  Note that in this example, Critical Strike may only be used with swords.  In order to use Critical Strike with other weapons such as a staff, the character must also purchase the “Staff skill” and “Staff Abilities”.  In this example, Critical Strike does not need to be purchased again.  It can be used for all Weapon Abilities already purchased by a character.  Thus, if a character has Sword Abilities, Staff Abilities, and Dagger Abilities, along with Parry and Weapon Throw purchased, he can use Parry and Weapon Throw with all swords, staves, and daggers.

Note that the number of Weapon Abilities a character can purchase is limited by his/her Focus.  A primary Combat Focus character can purchase an unlimited amount.  A secondary Combat Focus character is limited to four.  A character with no focus on Combat is limited to one.
